Transurban has long been looking for an activity that would benefit employees without the need to leave the office during the day.

Then we found Kate from Shine Shoe Shine and it was the perfect ‘perk’ to offer staff.

Kate has a flair that makes the art of shoe shining look exciting. Staff bring her their scruffy shoes and they walk away with them looking as good as new.

Here’s what a few of the staff at Transurban had to say about Kate.

"I thought that my shoes were beyond salvation – now they look like new again!"

"Even though shoe shine is a mundane task Kate puts “love” into what she does."

"I use to only rotate two pairs of shoes for work until Kate brought back to life two pairs that were ready for the Scrap Heap as I could not get rid of the scuff marks."

Transurban now has Kate as a regular feature on the event calendar and she seems to get busier every time she visits us.
